Platform & Reach Heights

A 4-tread step ladder typically offers:

• Platform height: approximately 0.80 – 0.90 metres (model dependent)
• Reach height: approximately 2.50 – 2.60 metres, based on an average user height of 1.75 metres standing on the platform

This makes a 4-tread platform step ladder ideal for ceiling-height tasks in homes and workplaces, such as changing light bulbs, decorating, or accessing storage in high cupboards.

• Swingback step ladders do not have a platform. On a 4 tread swingback model, only the second tread (from the ground) is generally considered a safe standing level. This gives an estimated working height of 2.20 – 2.30 metres, depending on the user's height and the ladder’s design.
